I feel I'm reading the same vague notions over and over and over. The notes where Seth has stopped and the writer starts are annoying. I don't care what time it was when the session started and I don't care about the superfluous details of the couple's lives who bring the Seth material to print. I don't need that to "authenticate" the ideas. It's cumbersome. I feel a bit talked down to at best, punked at worst. I respect those who have gained insight from this material. It just doesn't work for me.

This particular Seth book was the first of the several I have read over the years. I purchased it in the early 80's while recovering emotionally from a relationship, in which the break up was one of the most painful of my lifetime. I am 50 now, and I have re-read this book several times.
This book changed my life, and I say this in all honesty. No book since, has had such a profound affect on me. If you are a Conversations With God fan, this book said it all 20 years prior to Neal Walsh. Which explains why I found his books also a comfort.
It is a hard read, believe me.But once you get "going" it seems to flow, and becomes easier to understand.
I have lent this book to others, and they to experienced life changing ideals which the carry with them into their personal,private and daily lives. They have brought up their children according to what they learned in this book. Basically We all create our own reality, and in creating it we change our lives.
I don't know who Seth is, I can only imagine he is the cosmic awareness in all of us. Like Jung's Collective Consciousness theory brought to life.h
I think anyone who wants to understand the universe and its purpose in their lives should read this book. There are many books out there that offer life changing advice, this is the only one that ever really did that for me.

I really can't express in words just how amazing this book is. I first read this book about 15 years ago at the age of 21 and at the time I thought it was an amazing book then, though in reading it again 15 years later, I feel like I am now really able to fully grasp the concepts and the amazing implications of life and consciousness as we know it.
What shocks and amazes me the most about the Seth books is that there is not a single thing in the books I have read by Seth that I can say "That's a bunch of Bull", and trust me, I'm looking!
I am really, truly a reader. I read every night, and I have hundreds if not thousands of books. I read everything from Metaphysical to fiction to biographies, self help, history, etc. There are so many "new age" books out there that are completely full of garbage. People grasping at concepts or pushing their own views on readers, and they leave a bad taste in my mouth. Then there are the only think positive or the world will end new age books, and again they are not helpful, practical, or even possible to follow!
But these books are different. If everyone on earth read and understood this book, then we'd be living in a whole different world! A world of peace, love, and able to allow every single person to fully live their lives without judgment or trying to change who they are.
I just don't know how to aptly describe this book, and I apologize if I'm not doing it justice with my write-up! It has completely changed my view of myself, my life, my family and loved ones, and my world and how I operate in it. All the concepts in the book that I have worked with really prove that everything in this book is true. If you are searching for the real meaning of life on earth in this physical body, why we are here, what it all means, how to change your life to be what you want it to be, then it's all here. that and so much more.
I'm reading my way through every Seth book out there, and so far I've read The Seth Material, Seth Speaks, and The Nature of Personal Reality. I read a couple others 15 years ago, but now I'm reading through in the order they were written and it's so interesting to see the way in which the material builds on itself. It grows and expands, kind of like we do as we grow and change over the years. Anyway, in my opinion this book is the most essential Seth book out there and should be required reading for everyone.
If you want to understand your life, your world, and change your life into exactly the life you have dreamed of, get this book, it's the best book ever written hands down.

It's difficult to describe the Seth books to those who haven't read them. The vast amount of knowledge and wisdom contained within them is something that each individual has to experience for themselves. I can personally attest to the deep, gradual changes that these books have caused in my life. These are books that you will read once, twice, or even three times; rather, this is a series that you will come back to again and again, each time receiving new revelations and new wisdom.
This is the second book in the Seth series and, following the first book, which provided a solid foundation on numerous topics, this book deals with the individual and the manner in which their perceptions shape their reality. It's a very in-depth and thorough view into the way our beliefs, opinions, intentions, and basic thoughts shape who we are as people and how we see the outside world.
This, and the other books in the series, are by no means an easy read. They are not meant to be skimmed through, one should read them thoroughly and with a mind open to learning and growth. Once you finish this book, you can read the others, and once you finish them you can reread them all again and see things you missed the first time around! The Seth experience, honestly, never ends.
I recommend this series for all those interested in spiritual growth and development outside of the confines of mainstream religion.

The Nature Of Personal Reality is Jane Roberts' channeling of Seth's views on how we create our own reality and it's relation to the world around us. Seth teaches that our beliefs attract most of our life circumstances that we experience and by examining our beliefs we have the power to change them, thereby changing our daily life experiences. I've got to admit that I tend to be skeptical of most "channeled" material I see. However, TNOPR was recommended reading and I thought I'd shell out the cash and give it a shot.
The Seth material is different than most of the other "channeled" stuff out there. It's intellectual, empowering, practical, and individually testable. He makes some vague references to ideas that cannot be verified in our present state (i.e. the ability to change past events as all time runs simultaneously), but all in all this book is an in-depth dissertation on how to take further control over one's life and to know oneself more intimately. His assertions about the illusory nature behind many common New Age "affirmational" practices really impressed me and made me nod my head. He challenges the reader to do what many hokey authors are either too scared or ignorant to tell you to do, and that's to honestly confront ALL your feelings and beliefs as valid expressions of your relation to yourself, others and the world. Repression is quite possibly the biggest stumbling block to the Seeker and Seth gives very detailed reasons as to how and why to avoid this soul-deadening condition.
I gave it 4 stars simply because I felt that more could have been said on the relation between the individual's private reality and the mass reality of societies and the world, i.e. what happens when individual beliefs clash with mass beliefs and the mechanism behind their interactions and attractions. I don't think you can give a complete exposition on the nature of personal reality and value fulfillment without also going into further detail on how one's belief system interacts with other belief matrices.
Overall an EXCELLENT book that is sure to open eyes and help others empower themselves to do what we are meant to do and that is to take command of our own lives.
