The Mozart Effect

The effect of music on the human body have been investigated by scientists for a long time now. One of the interesting phenomenon they have found is called the Mozart Effect is termed coined by Alfred Tomatis. Scientists from the Center for Neurobiology of Learning and Memory at the University of California, Irvine did an experiment with 36 college students, it was a series of spatial IQ tests (to measure right brain ability). After they took the tests, they listened for 10 minutes to Mozart ‘s Sonata for two pianos in D major, k 448. They were retested immediately after the listening and were found to have IQ scores 8 or 9 points higher than before . This IQ gains faded shortly after about 15 minutes. Some researchers believe that frequent listening to Mozart may prolong the IQ gain.

Others researchers suggested that there is no real gain in short term IQ and that the Mozart Effect is simply a big hoax, recently someone called Dan Campbell promoted heavily the Mozart effect has something real he developed a series of 3 CDs called Music for the Mozart Effect.

Alfred Tomatis a scientist believes that frequencies play an important role not just the fact of listening to Mozart. Frequencies may play an important role in regard to resonance. If someone listen to something that make her or him resonate his heart chakra there is an harmony created , this can only benefit the listener.
