Everyone can develop mediumship abilities in their lives. It will take a little practice and time, but is very possible. Below we will give some general guidelines and pointers on how to start developing mediumship. Some people will be more sensitive and developing mediumship will come much faster and easier. Just like some people find mathematics easier and others will find the arts more to there liking, developing mediumship is the same, some people come to it easy and others will have to work harder. If you have a strong desire to develop mediumship and can feel the wanting in your being, it will most likely be a relatively simple process for you to develop mediumship. Some people reading this will have experienced what is called spontaneous mediumship. This happens when an important message is needed to be communicated. Spontaneous mediumship can be as simple as hearing your name or a full blown trance like state with complete communication between the spirit and yourself. This author actually experienced this type of mediumship when a loved one had passed away and the departed wanted me to take care of something that was very important to them. At the time I was not aware that the person had dyed.
In developing mediumship the spirit circle is the fastest and easiest way. A spirit circle is a group of friends that can come together and in a sense lend their energy for mediumship. These people should be serious minded and supportive of the person who is developing mediumship. A person who is developing mediumship should take on a trustful, open attitude and be willing to open themselves to the flow of energy from the people in the spirit circle. All those in the spirit circle should be in a good positive, relaxed mood. It is also helpful to thank the spirits for communicating with you, even if nothing has happened in the past. Please remember that mediumship can be a slow process, Do not try to force the contact, the spirits will make contact when you and them are ready. Even with those who are highly gifted it may takes weeks or months for a good reliable contact to be made.
There are several factors in developing mediumship and the formation of a spirit circle. The most important is developing concentration and focus upon the task of making and maintaining contact. This means to develop mediumship you should be able to shut out distractions and open yourself to your inner being. The spirit circle should be a group of people who sincerely want to establish communication with the spirit world and not a group that comes together to witness something out of the ordinary. The spirit circle should be between four and ten people and if possible have the same number of women as men. When sitting in the circle it is best to go boy, girl, boy, girl. It is also best to use the same place, time of day and people for each spirit circle if possible. The person who is developing mediumship should sit at the head of the table and all at the table should place their hands on top of the table. The hands should be connected by having the small fingers of each hand touch the person next to them. By doing this the energy is able to be circulated and pulled for the spirit to use. A clear form of communication should be announced for the spirit to use. As an example, one knock on the table means yes, two knocks means no, three means not sure and any other simple answers you may want. Each time you hold a spirit circle seance it should last between one and two hours, but not longer then two hours.
A person must also consider that as you develop mediumship the spirit you are communicating with is also developing their ability to communicate with you. Be patient and you will soon start getting small results that will grow into full blown mediumship.
