Astrology of the Chakras

It is well known to many of us by now that the “human energy field” is comprised of seven major energy centers or chakras that are located along the cerebral-spinal axis. Each of these centers acts as a substation or transformer of the universal energy or prana that flows through the medulla at the base of the skull. As the prana descends through the five lower chakras it is transformed or modified from it’s pure state. If the lower chakras are clear and free of negative impressions (trauma, suppression, etc.) then the prana is free to ascend back to the upper chakras leading to higher states of consciousness.

If the lower chakras are blocked, however, then the prana is blocked from ascending and these energetic blockages begin to manifest as “dis-ease” on mental, emotional and physical levels. In other words, if we have blockages in any of the chakras it means we have broken our “attune”-ment with universal life force energy on a subtle, or not so subtle, level. Since the chakras are energy centers that respond to vibration, one of the ways that we can come back into alignment or attunement is through the conscious use of vibration, music and movement.

One of the tools that can help us in this journey is an understanding, through the use of astrology, of the relationship between the chakras and the planets. In the astrological world each of the chakras is associated with or is governed by a different planet. On an energetic level the astrological chart is a map of not only the inter-relationship of the planets but a map of the inter-relationship and condition of the chakras. In essence, we have our own inner solar system that guides the evolution of our consciousness through the various chakra centers. By understanding the planetary quality of each chakra we can use specific forms of music, vibration and movement to awaken and open each chakra and energize ourselves.

Astrology of the Chakras

The first chakra, located at the base of the spine, is associated with the planet Saturn. Astrologically, Saturn represents our ability to ground ourselves so that we can materialize our dreams. Not enough Saturn in our lives leaves us ungrounded and unable to support ourselves. For some, too little Saturn makes it hard to create a sense of strong boundaries and center. Too much Saturn, however, and we can hold onto the material plane too much and resist change because of insecurity and fear. One of the ways to heal the first chakra is through connecting with the energies of the earth . Walking barefoot, doing yoga and drumming are all ways of tuning into the lower frequencies of the first chakra. Drumming, in particular, is an effective way of opening and awakening the first chakra. When we drum we often hold the drum between our legs which directly connects with the first chakra at the base of the spine. By tuning into the lower frequencies of the drum we not only energize ourselves but also become more present and in our bodies.

The second chakra, governed by Jupiter, is located in the pelvic or genital region of the body. The second chakra has to do with issues of creativity and sexuality and how we channel our fundamental life force energy and emotions. Astrologically, Jupiter is the planet that represents how we expand our consciousness. If we grew up in a family that suppressed emotions or sexuality then this would directly impact the second chakra and our sense of expansiveness. If we suppress one area of the second chakra, say sexuality, then all of the other areas;: our passion, creativity, expression of deep emotion, are affected as well. When the second chakra is open we are in touch with our primal life force, or kundalini energy. This is the fundamental electromagnetic force that animates our bodies and when freely expressed creates magnetism, passion, and true creativity in our lives.

The key to awakening the energy of the second chakra, then, is to get our instinctual energy moving and open and expand the range of pelvic movement. One of the best ways I’ve found to accomplish this is through free form dancing or African dance forms. Several years ago I had a guest African dancer in my Astrology of the Chakras class and she explained that many of the movements of African dance are actually meant to facilitate the opening of the various chakras. Any movements that contract and then expand the area of the second chakra, or pelvis region, will help to loosen up the energy in that center. Also, using ethnic or world music that activates the instinctual or moving center, such as didgeridoo, belly dance or Turkish dervish music, are excellent.

The third chakra, located at the solar plexus or “hara” is the seat of our personal power. Mars, the planet associated with personal will and Pluto, the planet associated with collective will, are the co-rulers of the third chakra. The issues of the third chakra have to do with power, control, trusting our gut level instincts, and our sense of personal empowerment. A blocked third chakra may manifest as a lack of being able to make decisions, not being to trust our own instincts, and feelings of being manipulated or victimized. An overactive third chakra may manifest as control issues, intimidation, rage, or violence. The key to healing the third chakra is to learn how to take power without harming others. It is also important to learn how to let go of the fear of being out of control.

Music can be a particularly powerful medium for opening the third chakra as it is a non-verbal form of communication that by-passes the cognitive mind and directly impacts our deepest emotions. Many people who feel they have to control their emotions find themselves being moved to tears by evocative music. Finding music that moves you, whether emotionally or physically is a way of accessing the deeper emotions of anger, grief and rage that are often trapped in the third chakra. As these emotions are uncovered and allowed expression, the third chakra can then blossom and the energy that has been channeled into control can now be re-routed into more fulfilling forms of self expression and creativity.

Music of the Heart

The fourth chakra, located around the heart and lungs, is governed by the planet Venus. Venus represents what we value, what we are passionate about and our capacity to share our love unconditionally. I also assign “higher” rulership of the fourth chakra to the planet Neptune, as it is Neptune that represents the process of transcending our own individuality and merging with spirit or divine love.
The fourth chakra is the bridge between the lower and higher chakras. It has been said that our western culture primarily relates to the issues of the first three chakras; money, sex and power. As we clear the emotional attachments of the first three chakras then we can begin to open to the expansive qualities of the higher chakras. If the fourth chakra is blocked we might have fears of not being loved, fears of giving and receiving affection or relationships that are unfullfilling.

The key to healing the heart chakra is through the development of compassion, devotion, and a sense of connection with others. Music, in the form of devotional singing, can open the heart and decrease feelings of separation. The Dances of Universal Peace from the Sufi tradition of Samuel Lewis are an excellent way of combining sound and movement to facilitate a sense of mystical connection or oneness with others. Combining sacred mantras from different spiritual traditions with simple circle dances, the Dances of Universal Peace help us to let go of the artificial walls that keep us separate. They are also a very safe way of practicing how to give and receive love unconditionally.

Opening the Throat, Third Eye & Crown Chakras

The fifth chakra, located in the throat region, is governed by Mercury, the planet representing all forms of communication and Chiron, the planet representing the mentor/teacher archetype. It is through the fifth chakra that we develop personal expression and the ability to create our own reality. If the fifth chakra is blocked then we might have fears of asserting or speaking up for ourselves. It may also be difficult to express our needs or the feelings that we experience emanating from the heart chakra. Another common manifestation of a blocked fifth chakra is disbelief in our ability to create our lives the way we want them to be. If we grew up having no voice in the choices that were being made for us or having our choices ridiculed then eventually we stop believing in the power of our free will or voice.

Healing the fifth chakra is imperative if we want to open to the intuitive awareness that comes from the sixth and seventh chakras. If the fifth chakra is blocked we may be overly mental and not open to the subtle intuitive information that is constantly being channeled through the higher centers. In terms of healing modalities, singing is one of the best methods for opening the fifth chakra. Since many people with fifth chakra blockages have literally “lost their voice”, the greatest way to reclaim our voice is to vibrate it with sound! Chanting sacred mantras such as OM is also beneficial as OM is seen as the fundamental, or primordial sound of the universe. As we chant OM we align ourselves with the creative sound that is thought to bring all material form into existence.

The sixth chakra, located in the middle of the forehead between the eyes, is co- ruled by the Sun and the Moon. The sixth chakra is associated with our higher mental abilities of introspection, self-examination, perception and intuition. Traditionally, the sixth chakra is seen as having two poles. The moon pole, located at the medulla, is where receive the “breath of god” or universal energy. The sun or active pole, located at the third eye, is where we express this universal energy through the vehicle of our own individuality. A blocked sixth chakra may manifest as fear of looking inside ourselves, fear of using our intuitive abilities, refusal to learn from life’s experiences, or the inability to access inner guidance. Physical symptoms could include migraines, anxiety, depression and learning disabilities. One of the best ways to open the sixth chakra is through meditation, visualization and accessing the imaginal realm through dreamwork. This opening can be facilitated by music that evokes the imagination and opens us to the realm of non-ordinary insights. Specifically, there are many CD’s available that help the brain to access deeper states of alpha, delta and theta consciousness that are otherwise only produced through meditation practices.

Lastly, we reach the seventh chakra, located at the top or crown of the head. The crown chakra is viewed as another point of entry of life force energy and represents our connection with universal consciousness. I associate the seventh chakra with the planet Uranus, as it is Uranus that represents the universal current of energy that nourishes mind, body and spirit. From the Vedic perspective of India, Uranus represents the kundalini energy that resides at the base of the spine in the first chakra. As we awaken and open each of the chakras the kundalini energies rise up the spine and activate the seventh chakra leading to enlightenment or illumination. Many of us experience this in orgasm as the kundalini moves through the lower chakras and activates the crown chakra. The reason we go to sleep after orgasm is that we are not used to channeling that much energy in the higher centers so we end up shutting down, or going unconscious.

If we have blockages in the seventh chakra this may manifest as low life force energy, disbelief that we can be supported by the universe, or feeling disconnected from a sense of meaning or direction in our lives. The interesting thing about the seventh chakra is that it is the polar opposite of the first chakra so we can open it from “above” or “below”. Pranayama or breathing practices help to open the seventh by expanding our capacity to channel energy through the top of the head. As we expand our capacity to channel energy we can withstand more aliveness moving through our bodies without resistance.

As we open the lower chakras through movement and sound we decrease the resistance we have to being more alive and release the kundalini energy that is dormant at the base of the spine. In other words, opening the higher chakras does not mean that we need to ignore or “transcend” the lower chakras as some traditions would have us believe. Rather, it requires that we work on opening up the entire chakric field so that we have the capacity to experience higher states of consciousness in a grounded or embodied way.

Datre 187 – What is an universal being

Datre answers Sandy, Cynthia and Terrell (Datre187)

JOHN: Today we have some questions from Sandy and the first question is… “I’d like to ask Datre where the Great White Brotherhood, the Ascended Masters fits. Are they also Universal Beings?”

DATRE: No, they are not Universal Beings. That is something that was set up in that which you call your dead zone. Which… well, it sort of relates to what you have on your earth plane. Let us go back to the point where there was no dead zone. You see, you think of that as something that has always been. It has not. There were century’s, many, many, century’s that you had no need for a dead zone, because you had a, what would be called, a more continuous life.

Now, you’ll say, ‘well there’s no record of that’. No, because it goes back too far. Your “record keeping” has been very short in relationship to the time that you as humanity have been on this planet earth. So… you’ll say, ‘well, what was that like?’. There’s no need to go into that because it has no relationship to what you are today. It is too far back. Now, if you want to know what that’s like, then set yourself up for the future to see what its like with out a dead zone. Because, that is eventually what you come ‘back’ to shall we say, is that which you call ‘life’ without a dead zone.

Now, when you became so disenchanted with the ‘ongoingness’ of that which you call your life ‘span’, you said, ‘I’m getting tired of this, isn’t there a way that I could take a respite, shall we say, and rest and relax from a physical body and more or less set up what I want to do and then go back into physicality again?’. So a dead zone was created by you – that were on the planet – at the time. Which is all of you now. There are no remnants that exist, because has been too long since you have had a dead zone.

Now, if you were to ‘trace’ some of your past history, shall we call it, through different cultures, there have been accounts of the times in which there was no death. You see, what happens is, depending upon your culture, you have so completely gotten away from the idea that those ‘story tellers’ were actually the preservers of record before you had written anything down. But there was no need to write anything down. It was passed on from generation, to generation, to generation. You didn’t have as many people on your planet.

You had ‘cultures’ on your planet of different types of individuals in physicality. But, you were not divided up like you are now, into that which you call ‘countries’ and ‘states’ and ‘villages’ and ‘towns’ and ‘cities’ and all of that. Back then, there were groups of people living together for a common purpose and those which you call the ‘story tellers’ kept your ‘history’ – as you call it today – intact. It was passed on.

Now, in those ‘villages’ or groups of people – you would call them villages today – were villages, tribes of people, what ever you want to call them, they had developed, within that small group, their own, shall we say, form of government. Now, this was before, what your history calls Roman Empire, the Egyptians and all of that. This was way before that. It was before anything. You did not ‘know’ that which you call writing.

So what happened is, as your culture – in these different groups – began to expand and if they left one area and went to another area, they drew ‘pictures’ of what they were like when they were there. That was the beginning. You’ll say, ‘well there’s hieroglyphics in all of these caves and all of these other places’. Also, there were many other places where they put different things that were showing the people, if they came to that place, what it was like.

You have that same thing today. You want to preserve a record of what was. You’re building a new building, you get a big box and you put all kinds of things that are pertinent today and you call them ‘time’ capsules or what ever. You put them in the ground, hoping that someday somebody will dig it up and see that’s what it was like. So you see, you haven’t changed that mode of operation.

Now, I’m skipping all over the place, but you’ll try and follow me. When the dead zone was invented – by no one but you – after all, how can anyone tell you what to do – this is ‘your’ evolution? When that was developed, they wanted a record of what they had experienced. And that became, what you call, the Akashic Records.

As the dead zone grew to humongous portions – they thought it was humongous at that time, because more and more wanted to experience this thing called death so they could start over again and you found that the transition into the dead zone was more than the transition from the dead zone back into physicality. They found it fascinating and many were reluctant to go back into physicality because of what they had already experienced, they didn’t want it again. So they wanted to stay in the dead zone as long as they could before they began to loose their viability and want to get back in again.

So, they had formed, what you would call, a governmental structure or guidelines or what ever you want to call it. So, each group got together and said, ‘well, this is the way we did it and I think we should have this kind of a system here’. And another one would say, ‘ours was much the same, we’ll incorporate that’. And, there again, you have your evolutionary ‘time’, shall we say, and you developed what they called, the Ascended Masters.

Now, this did not happen over night, as was said before. It was an ‘ongoing’ process. But, because they evolved to such a point that they ‘felt’ their viability, and no different than what you have on your planet today, wanting to be ‘number one’. You have the same thing in what you call the dead zone and the Ascended Masters. This is very simplistic, but this will give you an idea of how that started.

So, the Ascended Masters and what was the other one?

JOHN: The Great White Brotherhood.

DATRE: That is the same thing. Developed in the same manner. Just over a period of time it developed and the more ‘prestige’, shall we say, they gained. It is nothing more than a product of changing vibration and going into that which you call your dead zone. Because remember, you’re not your body. So your body had nothing to do with it.

It was ‘you’ all the time. But, ‘you’ having had physical experience, carried that through, because as that which you call your ‘time’ continued to make changes, you became more and more entrenched in the idea that you ‘were’ your body. And that is one of the things right now. How many people, right now, have the belief that they’re ‘not’ their body? That’s very minuscule in comparison to the number of physical beings that you have on your planet. So, continue with the next question.

JOHN: And Sandy continues to ask… “Is Datre part of the Great White Brotherhood?”

DATRE: Very definitely NOT. Datre is not physical. And everyone connected with Datre ‘knows’ themselves to be what they ‘are’. And those in Datre, they may have, in fact the majority, have never experienced ‘any’ type of physicality. They work and live in a state of working with vibrations – that’s all they work with. There’s no forms, there’s nothing like that. They are ‘birthed’ to be what they are, they do what they do, and that is what it is.

That is why so many wait to come into a physical being, because they want to see what that is like. They step down the vibration of a small portion of that which they are, to came ‘through’ a physical construct. And many, many… they come in, they look through the eyes, they cannot make any movement of the physical construct what-so-ever. They can’t move the eyes. They can’t blink. They can’t do anything with it. They just want to ‘see’ and ‘feel’ what its like. Totally fascinated by that experience.

And, in just a short period of time, they withdraw the energy. But in that experience alone, they have experienced a great deal. But because they have no memory, it is gone. But, the vibration that came through the physical construct is maintained as a ‘different’ vibrational pattern that they’re able to work with because it’s fascinating. Any energy that has not been experienced previously is fascinating.

You see, because you’re so used to being in a physical construct, you don’t ‘really’ experience the differences in vibrational energy. The body translated ‘all’ these energies and so you go to someplace entirely different, the body tries to find a similarity of a vibration that it has felt before. But anyway, that will give you an idea of what this is all about.

So, Datre – no – definitely not. Continue.

JOHN: We now have a question from Cynthia who asks…. “I wonder if you might comment on something that happens frequently to me. I’m sure you are familiar with those pictures which… if you look at them long enough, or in a certain way… something else – an entirely different picture emerges from them.”

DATRE: That is what you call…. those pictures that you look at called holography. They have them in your newspapers. They have them in pictures you can hang on your wall. You get a certain distance from them and another picture emerges from what looks like a whole bunch of junk. It’s a whole bunch of things that are drawn on a piece of paper and in viewing them in a certain way they will… another picture emerges. And if you tip it and move it around those also move. It is very… it is what you call 3 dimension pictures. I don’t know how they do it but they’re a lot of fun. I enjoy coming into the physical body and seeing them. All right continue.

JOHN: Cynthia continues… Or the simple cubes that are drawn in such a manner as their perceptive changes when you stare at them. I find that once this happens – it is difficult to see the object in the original perspective that I first viewed it. Almost as if I have entered another dimension. When the new perspective occurs… It is sudden – almost like a ‘pop’ occurs in my consciousness.

Of course, with effort, I can return to the original perspective… but I am wondering if this is something like what has been described as a ‘parallel universe?’”

DATRE: That parallel universe is a strange one. If you would say a parallel planet, that’s one thing. But a parallel universe, you have no conception of a universe. Any more than you have any conception of 10 billion dollars. You talk about 10 billion dollars. You talk about a million dollars. You just throw out numbers; you can’t conceive what that is.

Your scientists talk about so many billions of light years away that they have measured. By what measurements I do not know. But you must remember, ‘all’ of these measurements are ‘physical’ measurements. Done with ‘physical’ eyes, ‘physical’ instruments and what ever else you have in physicality for measurement. So you really don’t ‘know’. You’ll say there’s a star so many billions of light years away. Now, that is what your ‘instruments’ tell you. That’s what your ‘pictures’ tell you. What tells you where it ‘really’ is? It could be 10 miles away. You really don’t know.

You talk about the Sun being so far, the Moon being so far, the things out in space that you go to – the space stations – and all of that. And it takes so long to get there – and you’ve calculated it all out. Then you’ll say, ‘well it has to be right because it fits’. No, the thing is, you write out the equations. You said, this is how long it is, this is what it takes and your ‘physical’ construct makes it so. It accommodates exactly what you want.

You’ll say, ‘well, its so many miles from New York city to Los Angeles’. And if you take an airplane and you go to this airport in New York and you get off at this airport in Los Angeles, it takes you so long to do so’. So everyone agrees. Now we get back to that which is going to be a ‘sticker’ again – but it’s a ‘belief’ system. And, if you didn’t have that belief system – that that was what it was and this is how long it took, you would not be able to get on that airplane, because you would not be, shall we say, ‘flying’ at the same ‘rate’ that the others were.

Now, if you know what you are doing, and you know it takes so many hours to get from New York to Los Angeles, and you know that this is a ‘calculated’ time by others, but you know its not ‘your’ time, your trip will be so many hours – according to ‘your’ calculation. Then, regardless of what everyone else does, and believes, you’ll say, ‘well, as far as I’m concerned, it is only going to take me a half hour to get there or an hour to get there’. And when you get off the plane, you’re perfectly refreshed, because you’ve only been on that plane an hour. But, that’s because you ‘know’.

There’s a difference in those that ‘pretend’ they know and those that actually do. Because, those that ‘know’ what they’re doing, when they get off their watch will be the same as everybody else. But their “time” according to ‘their’ physicality is only a half hour or an hour – regardless of what the watch says. They don’t care about the watch. The only reason the watch is there as far as they are concerned is to tell someone else that this is the time I will arrive. You are not used to living like that, but there are many people that do. Continue.

************************************************************

JOHN: Now we have some questions from Terrell and the first question is… “I have taken a lot of pictures of Orb’s of varying shapes, and sizes lately. Could you please tell me what these entities are?”

DATRE: Well, from my vantage point I would not call them ‘entities’. They are different vibrational constructs. Now, you say they’re ‘orbs’. There are many people that see orbs. They see different shapes. They see different colors. There are those that will take a cardboard tube like the ones that comes in the plastic wrap or paper towels or something that’s got a long cardboard tube and you put it on your eye in the night sky, or you can even do it in the day light. The night sky I say because some people have difficulty associating to doing anything in the daylight, they think it has to be dark in order to be doing it. But, you look through that with that one eye of yours and you will see all kinds of little white dots dancing all over. Now, what are those white dots? Those are ‘bions’.

What you are doing is, you are taking a section of a vibratory pattern and the little dots are different vibratory patterns then the background. And that’s why you are able to see the dots. So you see, seeing things becomes very fascinating. It is like… especially after a rain, if you will look at the tops of your trees, and set your eyes a little bit off focus – like looking at those holographic pictures, those 3D pictures – you set your eyes a little bit off and you will see the aura of trees. Now, some will see them as white. Some will see them as dancing colors above the trees. It depends on what ‘your’ body shows you.

So there’s a lot of things to see, but these are all vibratory constructs – not anything that can be classified as an ‘entity’. An entity will have a construct similar to the construct that your physical body is, simply because that is the way you have been told that ‘entities’ look. So, you have this strong belief system – which you need to have to function here in physicality. Then you’ll say, ‘well, we see these space people and all of that’. That’s your ‘belief’ system. You’re taking things that you see in a vibratory construct – putting your belief system on it – and making it so. But, as to the ‘orbs’, no, those ‘orbs’ those are vibratory patterns – in and of them selves – that perhaps will make themselves into something or are perhaps there for different purposes. Many purposes for many things like that you have no idea what is happening, what is going on. But, you see, your body works with these vibrations all the time. Continue.

JOHN: And Terrell continues to ask… “There purpose for being here.?”

DATRE: What is the purpose of their being here?

JOHN: Yes.

DATRE: It is hard to say. It is part of the… that which you call your environment. You could have a whole big group of similar orbs. They may all look the same to you. But, perhaps you are planning to build a fence in your back yard. Well, what you’re doing is, taking those ‘orbs’ and making a fence, when you get ready to make a fence. You see, you need ‘something’ to do something with. You’re going to say, ‘well, that is far fetched’. Well, you think science fiction is fun, try working on this planet. Continue.

JOHN: And finally Terrell continues… “And how to communicate with them.?”

DATRE: Well you don’t, you work with them. Not ‘you’, I should say your body construct works with them. The body knows what its doing. Then if you want that fence solidified, then it is ‘your’ intent and focus that makes it solid enough to see. And because it’s ‘your’ fence you don’t need a lot of people to make it ‘stay’ there – because it is within the parameters of your yard – shall we say. If you need highways and buildings in a city, your house structure ‘within’ a community and all of that, then you need the MASS CONSCIOUSNESS of that community to sustain the road and the houses and all of that – once you have it built. Science fiction again? Quite dull in comparison to working on the planet. Continue.

JOHN: That was the last one.

DATRE: Okay, we thank you.

We are Datre.

Ascension and the Shift Into Higher Consciousness

The expansion and acceleration of Earth’s vibration has been occurring over many centuries but the shift became very noticeable in early 2011. By late autumn of that year, many people reported feeling more calm. This is most likely due to all the spiritual efforts people were making toward cleansing their own karma and bringing in and anchoring the accelerated frequencies of 11-11-11. What is this accelerated energy that we are supposed to be integrating? What does ascension mean? How will the Earth and humanity look once the shift into purer consciousness is complete?

First, let me remind you that there are no “good” or “bad” frequencies; everything is energy. There are waves and particles, light and sound, fast and slow vibrations, dense and expanded states. Accelerated energy is a faster vibrating and very intense cosmic energy coming from the central sun. It is having a tremendous effect upon the earth, humans, and animals.

The purpose for the ascension is to raise our soul’s vibration in order to ascend into higher realms of consciousness and master our thoughts, feelings, and body. Doing this frees us of anything unlike love that has accumulated during our lifetimes. Like a bride preparing for her marriage ceremony, we are here on Earth to develop our soul so that we can contain exalted vibrations, allowing us to enjoy union with our beloved in sweet oneness. We don’t have to wait to have this experience-it is available within our own heart space now. The time spent in preparation will automatically generate a light body that can consciously and physically travel into other realms and dimensions.

Ascension is the ability to consciously live forever in a body of light. An ascended one, who has mastered the body, mind, and emotions, does not need to die or be reborn. He or she can take on the appearance of a human (or any other form) at will. The ascension is a process of increasing the soul’s vibration. Spiritual purification practices can be tremendously helpful in speeding things along. Ascension is a personal choice we make and our free will is honored regarding this process.

To define ascension, I need to first share some thoughts about the ego because this “fallen” part of us is what we are leaving behind and ascending from. I define the ego as the part of us that believes it is separate from Source (God-Goddess). The ego (our limited self) says it wants to protect us from what it perceives as harm, but in reality it prevents us from expanding our mind and growing spiritually. It keeps us stuck in destructive patterns that secure only one thing-the continuing of a separatist mindset. The ego believes that you are separate from me and vice versa. It believes that we are separate and inferior to God rather than part of Him/Her. It believes that humans are superior to other forms of life. There is really no way that anyone or anything can be separate from God-the Life force, the Divine Matrix-from which all substances (souls, humans, animals, plants, stars, etc.) are created. Recognizing our oneness with everything is a vital part of the integration process.

Fearful and judgmental thoughts are part of the programming that must be undone. This programming may have resulted from a traumatic experience in which some part of the psyche hid or broke away because it either felt unsafe or bravely stepped into a protector role. These disenfranchised soul particles may have been brought in from a previous lifetime. Or, they may have appeared when we bought into the fear-based thinking that was handed down to us from our parents, church, or society. Regardless of when or how they occurred, these fragmented aspects of our soul are simply performing the role we assigned to them.

Many people encounter opportunities for great spiritual growth during the dark night of the soul and other heartbreaking events. The reason why the purification path to ascension has been so difficult is because we have resisted the process that brings an end to suffering and dethrones the ego. It is very important for us to recognize the cleansing that is occurring so we can consciously participate in this purification process.

Whenever we are moving to the next stage of spiritual evolution, we may reach a “ceiling” or resistance. The dismantling of this energetic barrier is a very deceptive process because the more we resist it, the more it tries to distract us and pull our attention away from our goal of oneness. The temptation to fight the ego is strong, and ironically it is in this “struggle” that we gain the strength to push through the elusive ceiling of separatism. Because whatever we place emphasis on will increase, the victory over the ego is more quickly accomplished by refusing to engage in the battle it offers. The answer then is to focus on the Divine essence (God/higher self), which raises your vibration. The Art of Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage is said to be both a science and an art. It offers many benefits such as keeping hair strong, lustrous and healthy and provides relief for conditions such as tension and migraine headaches, insomnia and disturbed sleep, stress and related illnesses and tense back, shoulder and neck muscles. Indian head massage is a wonderfully relaxing therapy which leaves you feeling peaceful, calm, refreshed and rejuvenated restoring natural harmony and balance to mind, body and spirit.

What is Indian Head Massage and where did it come from?

Indian head massage is a combination of massage strokes and techniques which will vary from therapist to therapist, hence the reference to it being both a science and an art. Each stroke or touch affects the mind, body and spirit in some way and balanced with the way in which the stroke or touch is applied creates the art. Every therapist will bring their own energy to it.

Indian head massage comes from the Vedic wisdom of Ayurveda; the ancient system of healing which originated in India thousands of years ago. Traditionally, in India, a head massage is given from birth using oil. As well as increasing circulation the gentle touch of a mother massaging her baby is both soothing and comforting. Their energy will intertwine; resonate.

Most people are familiar with the ‘soft spot’ located at the top of a baby’s head. Known as the fontanelle this membrane covered opening is the space between the two bones of the skull which do not fully join until the infant is around 9 months old. During this first stage of a baby’s life because of the fontanelle, head massage with nourishing oils can directly affect the nervous system, which in turn benefits the development and functioning of both the brain and the eyesight. Indian mothers will also often place an oil soaked piece of cotton on their baby’s head to provide as much nourishment to their brain as possible. Traditionally sesame, mustard, coconut, almond and olive oils were used. In the present day therapists utilise the healing properties of essential oils which bring many other benefits to the head massage treatment.

Around 80% of the population of India live in small rural villages where the tradition of Indian head massage is very much a part of every day life. Head massage is an enjoyable family and social activity and its skilful art is passed down from generation to generation. It is not just limited to family life and indeed in India barbers used to offer ‘champi’ which means head massage as well as a hair cut. Interestingly the English term ‘shampoo’ derives from the Hindu term ‘champi’.

What are the other benefits of Indian Head Massage?

Regular Indian Head Massage Treatment will:-

  • strengthen the central nervous system and assist all the systems of the body restore and renew themselves;
  • increase energy levels;
  • provide relief from tension and migraine headaches;
  • lower blood pressure;
  • bring about immediate feelings of peace, relaxation and calm;
  • provide relief from stress, anxiety, depression and other stress related conditions;
  • increase oxygen and glucose supplies to the brain resulting in optimum brain functioning and higher levels of clarity and concentration;
  • increase blood flow resulting in dissolution of accumulated toxins within the body;
  • provide immediate relief to aching, stiff and tense deep and superficial muscles located in the upper back, shoulder and neck areas;
  • enable energy cleansing and balancing of specific marmas (pressure points) located in the head;
  • stimulate the three major head chakras helping to restore and balance mind, body and spirit;
  • promote hair growth and hair lustre;
  • reduce premature balding and greying;
  • promote calm and relaxed sleep encouraging a natural sleep pattern;
  • maintain electro-chemical balance which provides rejuvenation and longevity;
  • increase the secretion of hormones necessary for the growth and development of the brain

The stresses and strains that our modern day living puts on us means there is little time for complete relaxation. Many people don’t allow themselves the time or space to rejuvenate and to restore the natural and harmonious balance that is essential for a healthy mind, body and spirit.

A shocking 75% of all visits to the GP are stress related and ailments such as digestive disorders (IBS, diarrhoea, constipation), ulcers, insomnia, high blood pressure, mood swings, hypochondria, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite and headaches to name but a few can all be attributed to stress.

In seeking relief for stress related conditions people become more aware of the underlying causes of their stress and so in addition to being a highly effective therapy for relieving stress, head massage also enables people to become more self aware and thus healing can take place from within resulting in good personal energy.

Indian head massage can be provided with or without oils. Using essential oils will:-

  • strengthen hair
  • remove dryness which causes brittle hair
  • soften the skin/scalp
  • delay hair loss and greying
  • encourage healthy hair growth
  • nourish the scalp
  • condition hair leaving it soft and shiny
  • manage dandruff
  • eliminate (sometimes instantly) itchy and flaky scalp
  • reduce brittleness caused by colouring, perming and treating
  • help relieve insomnia, eye strain and tension and migraine headaches.

Each individual essential oil brings its own unique healing properties to the head massage treatment.

Marjoram is particularly effective in treating both migraine and tension headaches.

Lavender is very calming and soothing, perfect for insomnia, aches and pains.

Frankincense has the ability to slow the breath and so is the ideal choice for anxiety and stress related conditions.

The therapeutic properties of Clary Sage are antidepressant and calming making it good oil for Indian head massage.

The choice of oil will be dependent on the conditions and symptoms of the individual. Often a massage blend can be used containing many essential oils which will not only enhance physical and emotional benefits but add to the health of the hair.

How is Indian Head Massage performed?

The beauty of Indian head massage is that it can be performed at anytime and anywhere!

Whilst some therapists provide Indian head massage in a salon setting often lying down or using a massage chair, providing the space is clean, relaxing and peaceful all that is required is a comfortable chair with a low back (the head massage begins in the middle of the back). This makes it the perfect ‘lunch break’ therapy or alternatively in the comfort of your own home. Traditionally Indian head massage is performed with the person receiving the massage sitting upright on a chair fully clothed but this will vary from therapist to therapist.

Whether the room for head massage is in a salon, a therapist’s home or the client’s home, the therapist will prepare the room with relaxing music, dim lights, candles and a burner with relaxing Aromatherapy oils which usually compliment those used in the head massage.

The massage begins at the 10th thoracic vertebra and using a combination of massage strokes such as petrissage (finger tip pressure), effleurage (thumb sweeping), kneading and hacking clears the flow of energy to the head making it more susceptible to the massage. By rubbing, squeezing, manipulating, kneading, massaging and tapping the muscles and marmas, which as previously mentioned, are pressure points located throughout the body, in this case in the upper back, shoulder, neck and head, the central nervous system is strengthened. The central nervous system impacts on all the other systems of the body and so an Indian head massage gives the effects of a full body massage.

Therapists have their own massage sequence, techniques and strokes. As a rule of thumb this begins with the back, moving to the shoulders, upper arms, neck, head, ears and face finishing with a cleansing and balancing of the subtle energy system known as the chakras.

Although not all therapists practice chakra/energy cleansing and balancing, this is a huge aspect and major benefit of head massage and certainly what brought me to this wonderful therapy.

Can I perform Indian Head Massage myself or do I need a therapist?

My own recommendation is to balance the two. I would encourage you to seek a good therapist and have at least one head massage a month, two if you are able. In between perform head massage yourself once or twice a week. There is a specific book I recommend for this purpose at the end of this section.

Do check that your therapist has a recognised qualification in Indian head massage.

Do tell your therapist any conditions and/or symptoms you have.

Do ask about the use of oils and their properties to find the one or blend which is right for you.

My own introduction to Indian Head Massage

My daughter had an accident on her bicycle badly injuring her hand and breaking one of her fingers. The doctor said it would take around 8-12 weeks for her finger to heal completely and we had to attend the hospital weekly for the finger to be redressed and examined.

I have for most of my life been aware of my ability to tap into what I to that point could only describe as ‘energy’. I would perhaps feel something in a particular house or environment, know distinctly when something wasn’t right or be able to pick up on the feelings and thoughts of others without them actually communicating this to me.

Up until the point my daughter injured her hand however I had often been quite afraid of this ‘energy’ and most of the time had shied away from it.

My little girl was in such pain with her hand that without thinking much about it I said I would heal her finger for her. From the day the accident happened I would regularly sit and hold her broken finger focusing my ‘energy’ on healing it. I would visualise this healing energy pouring from my heart, down through my arm and out of my fingers to heal her finger.

She was discharged from the hospital after just four weeks. The more occasions I spent ‘healing’ her finger, the better it seemed to look on the outside and then as we visited the hospital we would be told it had got better. After just three weeks we were told that it had healed completely but we visited again on the fourth week to double check everything was ok.

I felt like I had magic fingers. We kept this experience to ourselves because I don’t think I was totally convinced that it was my ‘healing hands’ that had healed my daughter’s finger so rapidly. My daughter however had no doubt in the fact that mummy’s magic hands had indeed done the trick!

Following this I experimented a little. My mum had been experiencing tension headaches and she would often come over complaining of another headache and I would sit her down on one of my kitchen chairs and simply place my hands on her head and focus my energy to heal her headache. On most occasions her headache would go completely.

In Autumn 2006 I came across Indian head massage and felt that with my new found ability to utilise my energy it was the perfect next step. To this point in my life I had always worked in busy office environments and so taking this course changed the direction of what I now consider ‘work’

I have found that during the massage, particularly around the back, shoulder and neck area I can feel the tension in particular muscle groups and so effectively work on these areas to eliminate the build up of toxins which cause sore, stiff and aching muscles.

Tension is often released when I am massaging the upper arms and the neck area.

Stress is felt when massaging the scalp and generally the less freely the scalp moves the more stress the person is usually feeling.

Energy is passed from therapist to client and vice versa. Before I begin a head massage I always centre myself and focus entirely on the person in front of me and on the massage itself.

When I work with the subtle energy system at the very end of the head massage I can feel which energy centre is most imbalanced. I allow myself to be open to receiving this energy so that I am able to cleanse, heal and help restore balance. The massage closes with a throwing away of this energy, although subtle it is an important aspect and thus completes the therapy providing a refreshing feeling of peace, calm and relaxation.

I feel privileged to be able to do this; to help others in such a simple and yet highly effective way.

Energy Enhancement the Tarot Princess of Swords And Advanced Techniques Of Meditation

Originally, the Tarot Cards came from Alchemical Sufi sources and the Sufi Alchemical Meditations based on the correct working of the energies of the Universe were encoded as symbols into every one of the Thoth Tarot cards.

Here is an explanation from the book of “The Princess of Swords” of the Thoth Tarot with the addition of how it refers to explanations of the advanced techniques of meditation…

“The inflow of spiritual energy or kundalini energy is well known in all spiritual circles as being expected in all genuine courses with teachers who have advanced experience with enlightened masters yet some people just cannot get their heads around it and they do not trust it as this concept destroys their idea of a “normal” world. They start to fear the unknown!!

The wind of kundalini blowing through you usually leaves smoke and ashes in its wake. Normally, when kundalini energy starts to flow through the interiorly held negativities it starts to destroy and release the pain and trauma within. Fear can be the result. The techniques of the advanced techniques of meditation show you how to totally clear yourself from moods and disturbing thoughts because it works at the level of energy which underlies all the problems.

Transmutation is symbolised by the Yin Yang in the card. These Practical, Ancient and Successful Meditations based on the Tarot teach how to remove the traumatic nature of all this energy release by using the new alchemical concept of “transmutation” – there remains non of the problems associated with negative emotions like anger or depression.. They do not work at the level of memory. You do not have to remember anything as they work at the level of energy which underlies all of the painful memories, yet the performance of the advanced techniques of meditation can easily and totally remove all the energy blockages, in a non-painful way!!

The Princess of Swords student of the advanced techniques of meditation knows how necessary is the transmutation of all the old energies on the path of evolution, progress and inner freedom. The student’s “no” to all the past negative energy held inside springs from an unequivocal “yes” to themselves and to their life!

Princess of Swords necessity for positive and easy change is comparable to the drastic move by Jesus Christ when he drove the moneylenders out of the temple, and to the work of Hercules when he drove the river Styx through the Augean stables, thus easily cleaning out thousands of years of pain or horse shit in one day!

The Wand of the Princess of Discs stretches from heaven to earth and symbolizes the Antakarana, an ancient symbol of Kundalini yoga, which represents the tower, rainbow bridge of energy which flows through all your chakras from heaven to earth, when all energy blockages preventing that flow have been transmuted through the techniques of the advanced techniques of meditation.

The Princess of Swords says, by learning how to bring the spiritual energies of the center of the universe, the highest and purest form of light, into this earth which is the darkest and most negative of all elements, it becomes possible to raise the energy level of the advanced techniques of meditation student and the earth itself.

This advance into new territory has the ability to unify to integrate the mother, the father and all the internal children into one energetic, soul infused and peaceful being.

“there can only be one!!”

The Princess of Swords bringing together spirit and matter, the removal of energy blockages has created something new which can channel the light onto the earth and cosmic idea-impulses, thoughtforms, become visible to everyone and permeate everything with their divine quality. The true healing of you, and the earth itself!!”

The explanation of the Princess of Swords above comes from the Thoth Tarot which encodes Alchemical information in every one of its Tarot Cards!!

Alchemical techniques of meditation symbolized in the Tarot Cards of the Thoth pack show how to easily transmute all negative energy without going anywhere near the emotions and memory!! The buddhafield of energy, in which evolutionary progress can quickly be made, and kundalini energy are absolutely necessary to any course of meditation.

The Princess of Swords symbolizes the way of the energies of the Universe and shows ancient and hidden techniques preserved in Taoism and Hindu Kundalini Kriyas. It is the most gentle and effective tool for all those who want to increase their energy, their evolution, their genius.

Also Ancient Egyptian spiritual technology – The Alchemical Meditations of Hermes Trismegistus from the Emerald tablet, and of Alchemical VITRIOL, a Latin word meaning “Acid” which dissolves all negative emotions and “Anger” symbolising the removal of all trauma and negative emotion through, “Drain the Last Dregs of your Vitriol!.”

The same energy circulation meditation… from the Alchemical Sufi Dun Nun, “the Egyptian”, he who took, “The Path of Blame” symbolized by the Sufi Naqsbandi Fountain at the Alhambra at Granada in Spain.

The same meditations… The Five Elemental Paths of the Qi of Chinese Alchemical Taoism and the Microcosmic and Macrocosmic Orbits symbolized in the Yin Yang Symbol.

The same meditation,… “The point from which a Man cannot err.” .. From the Freemasonic ritual creating the Master Mason and the “Entry into the Crypt” The center of the earth, of the Royal Arch. Arch or rainbow bridge symbolises the creation of the Antahkarana.

It is not enough to worship these words, the higher energies are only satisfied when we create these functions within ourselves. Only then do we become a “Made Man”.

The same energy circulation meditation… “With This Technique, Your Evolution Will Increase With Every Energy Revolution To Create A Revolution In Your Evolution.” – Paramahamsa Yogananda On The Kriyas Of Kundalini of India, of Kriya Yoga, of Babaji, the 2000 years old sage in the Himalayas, of Sri Yukteswar and Lahira Mahasaya.

These Practical, Ancient and Successful Meditations for the removal of all negative emotions like Anger, Fear, and Depression teach Gaining More Energy – Meditation, Shaktipat, Energy Circulation, The Kundalini Kriyas, The Five Elemental Paths Of The Chi Of Chinese Alchemical Taoism, The Grounding Of Negative Energies, V.I.T.R.I.O.L and The Art Card Of The Thoth Tarot, Access To Kundalini Energy, Strong Psychic Protection, The Merkaba, Pyramid Protection, Power Tower Protection, the Creation of The Antahkarana, Soul Fusion, Monadic Infusion, Logos Infusion for the Painless Removal Of Stress, Trauma And Negative Emotion.
